Wither Away

It's getting obvious that one of my favorite subjects are flowers / plants.  Here's one withering away, but you'd still see some elegance it used to carry when it was still in its full bloom.

Just to add something more personal...I'm very busy nowadays sorting out our BKK trip this June.  This is my first time to arrange one and a long one I should add. 

I'm so excited already! We'll be doing some Island hopping trip at Phuket, the only thing bothering me is my DSLR... should I or shouldn't I bring it during those trips?  How much is an underwater case? I hope it's not that expensive so I can buy one :)

Since I am not into the project 52, I thought of posting pictures that I have forgotten to upload last year.

Simplicity is Beauty

I've always been fascinated with flowers that's why I love taking photos of them.  But where I am it’s just difficult as there is not much variety.  Not like in the Philippines – my mom’s garden alone would showcase different types of flowers.

I use to buy some in the flower shops just so that I can be able to photograph them, imagine that! Haha!

But this particular one, you’d see them at the pathways.  At first glance you won’t see how beautiful it is because it’s plain and small – forgettable.  But I took a few snaps and saw its true beauty.

Simple is really Beautiful!

Ferris Wheel

When I was younger, I wasn’t afraid of heights.  But there was this one incident, maybe I was 5 or 6 yrs old back then, we had to take the stairs because there was something wrong with the lift.  I think we were at the 7th floor, then I suddenly freaked and cried because I was so terrified.  It was just like somebody turned the switch and “boom” all of a sudden I can't look down and had this terrible feeling of falling or missing a step. 

I did tried to “cure” my fear.  Went and join a mountaineering club when I was in my Junior year in college til my early 20’s, even tried rappelling (and I should add that it was so amazing just don’t know if I can do that ever again!) But without practice I am back to my “normal” acrophobic-self. 

So ferris wheel and rides like this are good to look at, but please don’t ask me to actually ride one J

W1 - Dubai Skyline

Arrived home early today so thought of going to the rooftop.  At first I thought I won't see anything but apartments of the same design...then I saw this... One of Dubai's Skyline with the prestigious Burj Khalifa towering above the other buildings.  I opted for the black and white for a more dramatic look (I hope).

My 2010 Unfinished Project

This was the pictures I took last year for the Project 365 which lasted for 2 months or so only - Shame on me! hahaha! By the way this is not the complete set as I can't upload all of them now...will update this later... <updated na!>

Project 52

Last Year I was too ambitious to think that I could finish a Project 365 (one picture a day).  With a full time job from 8am to 6pm (leaving home at 7am and returning at 7pm), it was quite challenging, and yes I know it’s really a lame excuse.  After a couple of months or so, I gave up and felt so bad that I couldn’t finish what I started doing. 

So this year, it will be different… hence I decided to go for the less strenuous One Picture per Week otherwise known as Project 52.  At first I was thinking of doing one picture per month but I felt that it’s better to go for the mid range challenge.  I will also use my old P&S camera instead of strictly using my DSLR (last year this was one of the challenges), and hopefully get a new phone with a good camera (fingers crossed).

I will be officially starting next week (January 16-22), hopefully to post every Saturday evening… Not sure if I can do something like showcasing all the pictures I took throughout the week and picking the best (in my opinion) as my photo of the week.  I guess I have to find that out.

So wish me luck guys…and lots of photo ideas!
